The Arts

Open hearts, open hands

“Following after the Creative Heart of God”

The Tree of Life Arts Ministry seeks to build bridges between the church and the arts. We see creativity as, (far more than a luxury), a necessity for fullness of life in Christ. We sing, dance, paint, write, act, and create as a way of worship and communicating God’s beauty to a thirsting world. We participate with the wider community of artists to learn and befriend. We teach the arts to open up the possibilities of life and faith to others. We collaborate with a network of artists to foster greater artistic expression and engagement in the church and our culture.

Did you know that the first time in the Bible we encounter a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit, he is an artist?

Then the  Lord  said to Moses,

“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,

and I have filled him with the Spirit of God,

with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge  and with all kinds of skills

— to make artistic designs..."

-Exodus 31:1-4

So, what does Arts Ministry look like?:

We envision running arts camps, art shows, workshops, hosting arts groups, and holding seminars with accomplished leaders in the arts. We envision the arts being employed with regularity in the life and worship of the church.
